Our Staff
Each staff member has a key group to help the children identify them, we also buddy up for the children so we always have someone looking out for them when their key person is not attending. To ensure all children are happy and safe we have a shared care approach to our key worker system. This ensures we all know the children in our care.
Sue and Kim will oversea all children and will work with SEND children as required

The Key Person System
At Sticky Fingers Preschool we operate a key person system. This means when your child starts with us the member of staff they feel more comfortable with will become their key person. September 2020 arrangements will differ due to Covid Bubble grouping and ensures we can keep children safe in the setting. Your child's key person will be the person who liaises with you to make sure that what we provide is right for your child's particular needs and interests. When your child first starts at the setting, she will help your child to settle and throughout your child's time at the setting, she will help your child to benefit from the setting's activities. We do however all look out for the children to ensure their well being is met and they are happy and moving forward within our pre school
We complete a Learning Journal to record your child's progress and development. These are designed to track their progress and give an overview of their development and activities taking place at Sticky Fingers, we use lots of photos as evidence giving parents the opportunity to see what their child gets up to with us. Parents are welcome to view these Journals and arrange meetings at a mutually convenient appointment with the key person or management throughout each term. We have lots of informal chats with our parents daily to ensure our children are happy and parents are aware of how they are progressing, this may just be a brief chat but we always let our parents know how children are doing even if it a small step forward.
We also have a small Contact Journal that goes home daily for parents to share activities etc from home. the key person or management will view them and comment daily.
At Sticky Fingers Preschool we believe in maintaining a high ratio of adults to children as set out in the EYFS which enables us to:
· Give time and attention to each child but still ensuring a child has time to 'just be' themselves and play
· Talk with the children about their interests and activities, develop their language and confidence speaking up
· Help children to experience and benefit from the activities we
provide taking the next step in their learning and achievements
· Allow the children to explore and be adventurous safely, taking risks and evaluating their own ideas

What do Parents Say???
Parents look for pre-school in many different ways. Some listen to what past parents have to say, look at this website, pop in for a visit, arrange a visit, read the Ofsted report no one way can been seen as the only way to go. We always prefer parents to come and have a look not just at what we do but how we are doing it. You are leaving your child with people you don't always know so its always great to meet parents and children.
All parents have an idea of what they are looking for and often we like to ask them sometimes the
comments about what they are looking for and how they felt are never recorded so we felt that this was an area that needed to be recorded in writing. Sometimes there is nothing we can possibly do to change things, sometime comment make it
all worth the hard work and sometimes a parents comments allow us to reflect on how we can change our pre-school to benefit the parents and children attending, so this will be our mini blog, when parents comment I will try to update this
area and let you know how we improved our outcomes for the children and families, also what things other parents liked.
'Dropping my son off her is like dropping him with family'
The New Facebook Page has been great to see what our children get up to, its so
'Now' I love it!!!
We were made to feel very welcome and didn’t have an appointment
They were really busy but everyone was having fun (this was children and teachers)
The teachers looked like they loved being / playing with the children
I wasn’t sure it was the pre-school for our child but after visiting I just knew it was, it was just a feeling, the teachers all took time for the children and everyone was so busy, nobody was made to do things, even though they did when asked. (this was a comment regarding sharing and turn taking)
I came here years ago and wanted my child to as I liked it (oooo not sure on that one as it makes us feel old but these families are returning with their young children!!)
The teachers listened to my problems and were like a family
